CLEAR Local

By taking advantage of the CLEAR Local service, a college may have their own dedicated instance of the database where only records pertaining to their library are displayed and college staff are able to create and manage new records of their own.

localinstances

CLEAR Local instances automatically inherit records from CLEAR Central when the college subscribes to a product through OCLS. Staff at OCLS will deploy and maintain records of licence agreements to which each college subscribes.

College library staff can create new records for resources that they subscribe to directly with the publisher. Look at the page on Creating a New Record for detailed instructions.

College library staff can also deactivate a record in their instance so that the record cannot be seen by the public.

Please contact Holly Sarvari, Electronic Resources and Services Coordinator at OCLS (hsarvari@ocls.ca) if you would like to take advantage of the CLEAR Local service for your college.
